There are many local attractions only a short drive or train ride away. Feel free to do an internet search, but here are some ideas for you – some are obvious, some not so obvious.

45 Minutes – Cleethorpes Beach – What can we say? A wonderful beach, pier, amusements, crazy golf, fun fair rides, donkeys, fish and chips – how much more encouragement could you need? By car it is motorway and dual carriage way most of the way. By rail, you can get the train from Crowle station (via Scunthorpe)

45 Minutes – The Deep – The Deep is one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world, is located in Hull, East Yorkshire and is home to magnificent sharks, turtles, penguins and the UK’s only Green sawfish. The dramatic building, which overlooks the Humber estuary, was designed by world class architects, Sir Terry Farrell and Partners in, what was then, one of the most deprived and unfashionable cities in England. The Deep is now the most commercially successful Millennium Project.

40 Minutes – Teamsport Karting– TeamSport Hull is the perfect choice for families, groups of friends and even work colleagues looking to have some fun outside of their 9 to 5. Our all-new, state-of-the-art 400m track will test even the most well-versed karters, but drivers of all levels are not only welcome, they can look forward to an experience they’ll never forget.

40 Minutes – Rock City – The original Rockcity started life in 1994 as one of the UK’s first community indoor climbing facilities. Adding an indoor skatepark almost immediately, changing the lives of many young people and continuing to push the boundaries for what is possible to do some 26 years later, with some of the most iconic and modern facilities in the world. Rockcity is now a collection of ideas and different companies. Rockcity Sports Club CIC runs the climbing, skate, BMX club, and community facilities. Rockcity Coffee keeps everybody refreshed and Rockcity Industries supplies all the gear online, in-store, and on your wall.

30 Minutes – Humber Bridge – The Humber bridge is a marvel of engineering, standing majestically over the river Humber. There are a couple of viewing areas, but try to take an hour or so out and take a walk over the bridge.

18 Minutes – Messingham Zoo – Messingham Zoo is a family run business. The primary aim is to offer something different to larger zoos and wildlife parks by focussing on close up encounters with smaller, friendlier animals. Education forms a big part of what we want to deliver, teaching about animal care and welfare. The zoo is still being established but the vast majority of animals are now on display. New animal attractions are being added all the time as animals arrive.
